About Us
History
Established in 2025
Ylang Ylang Restaurant was created in November 2025 as the sister restaurant to the beloved Passiflora vegan restaurant, founded by Chef Loraine Arroyo over five years ago in Rincon. What began as a celebration of plant-based Caribbean cuisine has now expanded into a vibrant, meat-friendly and vegan-inclusive menu that honors local flavors, traditions, and creativity.
At Ylang Ylang, Chef Loraine brings her signature passion for bold, fresh, and soulful dishes-now paired with an elevated cocktail program inspired by Puerto Ricos own cacao, coffee, fruits, and locally sourced ingredients.
Nestled inside El Oasis Hotel, Ylang Ylang is part of a growing vision to create spaces where community, nostalgia, and island culture come together. El Oasis is a locally owned, locally staffed hotel dedicated to honoring the beauty of Puerto Rico through hospitality rooted in authenticity, warmth, and respect. Our mission is simple-craft meaningful experiences that feel like home while celebrating the richness of our Caribbean heritage.
Every plate, every drink, and every moment at Ylang Ylang carries the spirit of the island, the creativity of our team, and the heart of our community.

Meet Our Executive Chef
Chef Loraine Arroyo
Born and raised in Aguada and coming from a proud family of fishermen, Chef Loraine Arroyo brings over a decade of culinary experience and a deep respect for sustainability to Ylang Ylang. As the founder of the beloved Passiflora restaurant in Rincon, she earned a devoted following for her creative approach to plant-based Caribbean cuisine. Today, she expands that vision with a menu that blends local sourcing, bold island flavors, and beautifully executed plating-delivering dishes that are comforting, modern, and unmistakably Puerto Rican.
